Are Programmers Lazy?

I have never seen out of shape industry like programmers/developers. One obvious reason I know is, we sit a lot. We love our computers. We love our gadgets. We love writing and so we end up sitting long hours. We also love Pizza and Beer.

But in general, when it comes to doing anything else besides programming, such as going to gym, cleaning up your room and living space etc, my question is,

Are programmers lazy?

If technology makes us lazy then programmers these days are extremely lazy, because technology has progressed so extremely since when I started programming.

Programmers arent lazy.For example: After i've gone to army i was very hard-working so that cant find time for sleeping.

After i came back from army,i've come home,accessed my PC and laziness started.

Technology makes us lazy more & more everyday.

Vulpes, you are a very capable programmer. If you were lazy, you would make a robot fetch the beer for you.

I don't consider myself to be particularly lazy and, to prove it, I think I'll take a hike to the refrigerator to get myself another beer :)

Hurricane is almost here. Rain has started. We are supposed to get 15+ inches of rain. It definitely is making me lazy. Just came back from Neel's Football game. It was raining hard and cold.

Some programmers enjoy Hiking but I might be the only C# Corner member that does. I have learned that programmers that are husbands get very little time to get excercize.

I have a couple of projects I am worlking on in the backyard where I live. It got up to 105 degrees fahrenheit on Friday but I did some work outside. I suppose that makes me not a typical programmer. I would enjoy taking a hike. I get emotional thinking about Mount Baldy, but it is unlikely I could get up there today.

Will Hurrican Irene force east coast programmers to leave their computers this weekend?

This was an interview question asked to me once, three years back..

I used to sit late night office and come so early in morning.

Those days, I dont' have any hobbies or enjoyment just work work.

I update No Hobbies in resume just for fun, but the interviewer said am lazy.

Those days it happens.. because you are beginners.
