asp.net core razor upload web app to server

Ok, I finished my application and now I want to upload it on a server and use it from there. I searched the net but is confusing me, when I try publish from Visual Studio I only see .dll. So how do I put the web application on a server and use it?

Jignesh, both in web.config and appsettings.production.json?

Currently, my appsetings.json conenction settings looks like

This needs to be modified after uploading on the server?

You need to change your connection string in supporting.Json file if you are using .net core. Change your self server and database name, username, password in connectionstring

Ok, got my files on server but how do I modify web.config to add connection to sql database?

I managed to configure an IIS on my laptop, the website is loading but when I try to login with default user and password I get an error. Some hints?

I don't understand it, I don't own the server, I cannot configuring myself, that means I have to look for a hosting services with either IIS or configuring the server

asp.net core runs fine on linux and mac. but cpanel is a dashboard for the apache webserever. when asp.net core is hosted by apache, apache is configured as a reverse proxy. this means you still need to config linux to start the asp.core application, so that apache can reverse proxy to it.

Thank you Jignesh, that's clear. If I have an web app developed in asp.net core, Razor pages or MVC, do I have to upload it on Azure or IIS server? No other options? It is developed with SQL Server as database

which hosting have you purchased and are you willing to host on IIS (like godaddy Economy plan with plesk etc) or on Linux Cpanel?
