attachments with mail

Question

i have a web mail application. am sending mail from gmal along with attachments. when i click send option i get this error.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\mail id.txt'.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\mail id.txt'.

i am sending from my laptop where the file is on desktop folder to another mail id from gmail id. thts all. i am sending thru web mail application

from where you are sending attachment from server or from client?

Hi Avinash, The above path is default when you just set "mailid.txt" ,Copy that file in your Project Folder & try to catch the path using string path = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~/mailid.txt");

i have the file on the desktop folder. or shud i put the file in the path tht is mentioned by the error message?

put a break-point and check out the path of file as well it exist or not on specified path. That file may be not exist on the path you had provided to attachment that's the cause this error is occuring.
