I should let you know that the software can be designed using any language but C++ and C# are the commonest languages these days. They normally use Oracle database but mainly MySQL has been used by many financial institutions.
Since you may be new in software and database designing and development, I designed a software called Banking Management Solution. I used VB.Net, Ms Access and VS 2010 Professional. You can try my software for free. You can convert the language to other languages if you don't want VB.Net.
