i need to enter a value like name in textbox

and bind Gridview with the rows only where Name like entered in textbox this oll to be done using javascript?????

You should consider to use "AJAX" for this purpose. Note that, "Gridview" is a ASP.Net Server Control, so you could make an ajax request (using jquery or plain JS, in order to get the data from DB) and bind the result back to gridview.
