TIF format (in general) supports different types of compressions (including JPEG, Fax, LZW, JBIG2, etc.). Some of these compressions are not natively supported in Microsoft libraries, so you might need to use a programming toolkit that supports these types of compression (such as leadtools). They support loading TIFF files with different compressions, and view these images in .NET viewer. More details can be found in the following page:
