C# Serial Communication

Hi all,
I'm new to c-sharp and am working through a problem that I believe is trivial. I have a form with a text box, a button, and a label. I want to write to a com port whatever is in the text box and then have the response displayed in the label text. Can anyone provide me with a quick method to do this?

Ok. Maybe trivial wasn't the best way. I've performed an extended search regarding how to do this and without know a lot more about C#, I don't see a way to do this easily. I understand the nuances of Serial Communication and that there is quite a bit more to it, but all that I'd like to do at this time is to tie my Rx and Tx lines together, write a value that is in the text box upon clicking a button and then displaying that with label text.

Serial communication is not trivial. In the past, using the Windows API, it might require a month to learn serial communications. Fortunately .Net makes it easier.
