can any one tell how to retrive data from xml and present it

Hi  iam kiran a learner for window phone 8 apps and window store apps.
Can any one tell retriving nodes in xml and present that data in itemspage items and retrive that data.
I am following this tutorial form msdn:"http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/windows/apps/br211380.aspx" and develope my own app. i have to use .xml file to retrive data from and present it in items page, split page.
can any one share your resources to develope this app.
