In the initial stage for freshers, the companies keeps marks-barrier in order to filter candidates, as they are getting 10 candidates for 1 position. By gaining experience each year, the number of candidates for position will reduce to 5 for 1, 3 for 1, 1 for 1, then 1 for 2 like that making the company relax on barriers like marks, qualification etc., increasing salary & perks, and everything tend to be just ensuring "What is the minimum thing needed for job?".. that would be "Experience".
We can see that companies even change their rules to get things done >> Recent Infosys tweaking laws to make 'Narayana Murthy' in :)
As your passion is for Microsoft, you can check the job portal of Microsoft, register & find out the RARE technical area they are looking for, if you can add a niche in the area, add certification & keep pinging, within couple of years your passion should Fetch a job in Microsoft!
