Imagine you're building a LEGO castle, and you have all these different LEGO pieces spread out on the floor. In ADF, the sink is like the part of the floor where you decide to put your finished castle.
Just like you gather and join all the LEGO pieces to make a castle, in ADF, you gather and prepare your data (like numbers, words, and information) from different places.
Then, when it's all ready, you place it into the sink, which is where you want your final, organized data to go.
