Completed BE - CSE in 2008. Nearly 6 years experience in IT. Initially trained in Java. Have 4 yrs exp in 1)Unix, Linux environments, 2)Basic SQL, 3)Production support and maintenance activities. No experience in development so for.
For last 2+ years working as a lead and taking care of Project Management activities(Technically away).
As Project Management activities alone wont help me to improve my carrier, now I like to learn and work technically.
But I am highly confused in choosing right platform/Language for me to start? Basically I am interested in Web technologies. Could you please guide me on how to start? Also shall I go for self learning or external training?

Considering your case and situation as you explained, I would recommend you focus on Tech PM type of position
You can continue brushing up your Tech skills for the technologies you are managing the team of and strengthen on Tech PM role skills
