Change port no in sharepoint web application.

Question

We had created a web application which port no was 5050... Later on we have modified the port no as 5051 but if we go to the www root inetpub virtual directory folder I can see the port no is not changed still it is with old port no.., 5050. Here question is 1. how to change the port no in virtual directory as well??? 2. If we change the port no from CA and do the correct host mapping in iis and in virtual directory port no is unchanged still with old port no... so will it create any issue in future???
