Coding in C

Question

I want to learn more about C coding, I am already quite knowledgable in C#, but the organisation I work in tends to lean towards coding with C, how difficult is it to make the transition, and if anyone could help me out with some websites where can learn more about C, would be most appreciated.

You won't find it particularly easy as C is low-level compared to C# and it's hard work to write, say, a windows GUI application using only the Win32 API. On the other hand, if you want to write a device driver, then C is the only sensible way to go. The language itself is relatively small and simple (procedural rather than object oriented) though you have to do your own memory management. Not surprisingly most of the statements are the same, or similar, to C# as the latter is a member of the same family of languages. There are some free online tutorials such as these: http://www.physics.drexel.edu/courses/Comp_Phys/General/C_basics/ http://www2.its.strath.ac.uk/courses/c/ but, if you're really serious about learning the language, I'd get yourself a copy of the definitive book on the subject: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Programming-Language-2nd-Edition/dp/0131103628 You'll have to learn any APIs you need (other than the standard library) separately using whatever documentation you can find.
