Confusion at fresher level
Hello Expert Panel , I have qualified MCA in June 2013 and till now i am not placed . I am very interested in programming field but now a days its very confusing state for me . In BCA I worked with java Technology. When I come in MCA , I just come to know that Java is not going to help me in getting the job at fresher level. So I start focusing on Dot net Technologies , I started attending seminars do separate 6 months training in Dot net technology. Then JavaScript and Jquery also looking important as a web developer career is concerned . And finally PHP is also in my mind . Its very confusing for me , what should I do for getting Job ?

i am also a fresher and currently searching for job in .net field.
I am in Indore(mp) but want to go on another city.Please suggest city(s) in which .net market are better than other cities.

Picking of technology should be based on your interest and scope. Java has been sold many times to many hands in last 5-6years and doubted to be competitive of .net in near future. .net is much easier than php as it has ready made tools. But you would surprise to know that market share of php is more than .net!!! :) Often php guys says that php has more compatibility to any platform/OS than .net has etc etc. Wonder? Let me describe why it is: Smaller companies who are trying to establish their business prefer building websites or applications for their customers in php because they can host their package at very low cost on Linux machines. If they choose .net they have to buy window hosting and have to pay more. Thus they play smartly and prefer building applications in php. And thus it is popular and you can find php website/application often over internet.
In July 2013, PHP rating has been increased from 7 to 5 compare to previous year. C# has downfall and shifted to 6th position from 5th. This position is maintained for languages based on popular search engines like Google, Bing, Wikipedia, Yahoo!, YouTube, Baidu and Amazon.
Earlier, there was no good framework for php but last year in September it got a new PHP Zend Framework that has boosted it. Java has kept its position at level 2 as previous year.
So, no doubt which track or technology you will pick is going to make you stable in market. Some countries still has good demand for Java professionals but slightly it is challenging work to get a job as a fresher in it.
At the end of this tale, I would like to suggest you for opting .net track. It has very good resources and contineous evolution in technology and mechanism. You can see how fast MVC is capturing market as core asp.net evil ViewState has been eliminated. Hosting services are now lowered compare to earlier days and Microsoft is providing free IDE as express version and C#, C# compiler, .net framework is already free.

I want to say don't be confuse among Java, ASP.NET, Php etc. All technologies have their own scope. Don't think that this technology can't give me job. Jobs are not depends on technologies on fresher level, jobs are depended what we did in past and what we want in future.
First of all choose one among these technologies and try to learn basic of those technologies. Develop a project on that technology so that you can show off that I know these things to interviewer. But I want to add some additional things that you know about them to get job on fresher level.
· HTML
· CSS
· JavaScript
· SQL
· Knowledge of any relational database (SQL SERVER, ORCLE, MY SQL)
· Object Oriented Concept
· Basic of technologies in which you have interest.
We can't do job for long time without interest so root is interest. So find out your interest and think positive.
