Converting DLL to .NET assembly

It doesn't actually convert the COM dll, but creates a separate dll assembly in which you can use to access your COM assembly, in essence wrapping the calls (Proxy Pattern) If you are using the Visual Studio .NET environment, simply add the dll as a reference to your project and Visual studio will automatically create a separate assembly that will allow you to access your dll. Add the reference by right clicking on the solution explorer and choosing Add Reference. If the dll is a COM dll, choose the COM tab and browse for the dll in which you want VS.NET to build the wrapper. Once you've added the reference, you can use the COM dll as you would any other class in C#. (See the COM interop section on C# Corner) -Mike G.
