hi use following namespace in your page

using System.Web.Caching;

I have used like the following.
i have fetch a value from DB using linq and then inserted it into cache

LinqToSqlDataContext db1 = new LinqToSqlDataContext();
var smtp = (from sm in db1.ApplicationSettings
where sm.KeyName == "smtphost"
select new { sm.KeyValue }).Single();
if (smtp != null)
app.smtphost = smtp.KeyValue;
db.Dispose();

HttpRuntime.Cache.Insert("smtphost", app.smtphost);

when you want the value you may check if it exists in cache then fetch it.

if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty((string)HttpRuntime.Cache["smtphost"]))
{

}
