Count data and display in gridview

Hi friends I'm new with asp.net I want to count data in sql query and display that counted data in a gridview column please help

Hi Safi,

For count one column:
       select Count(column_Name) From Table
For cpunt Total Rows in Table.
        Select Count(*) From Table

To Add that value in gridView,

DataTable dt =new DataTable();
SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter();
adapter.fill(dt);
grid.DataSource = dt;

Do something like this...

Fire two queries in sql and store it in DataSet object...

select count(*) as TotalCountedRows from table1;
select * from table1;

In c#:
SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter("select count(*) as TotalCountedRows from table1; select * from table1;", conObj);

DataSet ds =new DataSet();
adapter.fill(ds);
Label1.text = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0]["TotalCountedRows"];
Gridview1.DataSource = ds.Tables[1];
Gridview1.Bind();

Hello

you can use count(Column_name) in select query to count tottal records

like : select count(EmployeeId) from tb_Employee

Like that you can get total number of records and can pass to the label or anything else

Use this query to get the column count and bind that column in gridview.
Select count(1) as Cnt from youTableName;
