cross browser compatibility

Question

Hello Masters;
I design Master page, it shows fine in IE but when i open it in other browser (Firefox, Netscape etc) it spread. can anybody tell me how can i set cross browser compatibility for my Web Application so that it can be viewable same in all browser,
i have just an idea about it, it may possible through .css
please help.
