CSV stands for comma separated values. It is NOT an Excel file. MS-Excel has just given the facility to view it as rows and columns, that's it. This is because rows and columns is the default view of MS-Excel.

CSV files are plain text files, which can be (and should be) opened using NotePad or NotePad++.

Check flat file / text file provider in SSIS and appropriately answer the questions in the wizard.
