one way to retrieve a particual entry from a particual column is sqlUpperLower = "Select UB, LB, Path, Form from NameDB" 'selects 4 colums in Table This is an SQL statement selecting 4 columns in a table AdaptUpperLower = New OleDbDataAdapter(sqlUpperLower, conn) This creates an OLEDB Adapter if you are using Access. This adapter creates commands which will delete, retreive, or change values in the DB Private TableUpperLower As New DataTable This creates a new datatable AdaptUpperLower.Fill(TableUpperLower) This uses the adapter to fill a that datatable (TableName.Rows(RowPosition)("NameofColumn")).ToString() where position would be the last row. Use a counter or just put in a number into RowPosition value and you will get the value in that row from that column. the .ToString casts the value in the row as a type string. That is, if the original value was a string in the database. Then assign this value to a string and you can print it or something.
