As I keep observing everywhere, date is probably most misunderstood data type.

What is the datatype of "Dates" column in table. Because both SQL Server and C# support datetime, try not to convert dates to strings at all.

Remember that the regional settings of your computer play a role in such conversions. Computers have problem converting dates like '09/02/2016'. Is it 9th February or 2nd September? That is decided by computer regional settings. Your sql server may have different regional settings than yours!

If you have to convert dates to string, for programming purpose, always stick to just one format yyyy-MM-dd. Formats like dd-MM-yyyy or MM-dd-yyyy are error prone.

DateTime BusinessDate = DateTime.ParseExact("datestr", "dd-MM-yyyy", System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);

my store procedure query is:
select top 1 CONVERT(VARCHAR(50),Dates,120) Dates from General_Cash_Flow where CrtDate=@CrtDate order by Dates Desc

database: Dates nvarchar(50)

C#:
if (dr.Read())
{
string ddt = dr["Dates"].ToString();
errror line is: dtpckVoucherDate.Text = string.Format("{0:yyyy-MM-dd}", ddt);
}
dr.Close();

please help me

Change

select top 1 Convert(varchar(50), Dates, 120) Dates from General_Cash_Flow

And....

Change

dtpckVoucherDate.Text = string.Format("{0:yyyy-MM-dd}", ddt);

Then it should be okay, I guess.

Also, I think, date time picker has two separate properties, one for developer to pick-up and one for user to show. Use each one as appropriate.

i have different-different date max date show in ddt but in datetimepicker not show max date
and give error string was not recognizes for valid date time ....

Use culture to convert string to date time
Check the following sample
IFormatProvider provider = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("fr-FR", true);
DateTime.Parse("2/2/2016", provider, System.Globalization.DateTimeStyles.NoCurrentDateDefault).Date

Wouldn't it be helpful, if you could debug and paste the String that you attempting to parse?

Typically, to my knowledge, your regional settings would play a role, depending on how you are calling a method.

Please share the relevant code and data.
