display a value in 3 digit after the decimal point

Hello everyone, I am looking to display a value in 3 digit after the comma on C #.

I put this code but it appears to me 11.5

Graphic.DrawString(""+montant.ToString(".###"), lCalibri10Bold, Brushes.Black, 500, dis);

Hi,

You can also use :
Console.WriteLine( String.Format("{0:0.###}", 123.4567) );
Output : 123.457

But if you consider it as a string :
Console.WriteLine( String.Format("{0:0.###}", "123.4567") );
Output : 123.4567

The parameter has to be a number for the fomatting to work . Because Numeric formatting works on number .

Hi,

You have to parse the string into decimal :

String due="123.4";
Decimal dueDecimal=Convert.ToDecimal(due);
Console.WriteLine(dueDecimal.ToString("0.000"));

Output : 123.400

but how can i formate it if the due is a string .

String due="";
Console.WriteLine(due.ToString("0.000"));

Hi,

You may use the Math.round function and string formatting to achieve this as below :

decimal due=(decimal)Math.Round(123.45, 3);
Console.WriteLine(due.ToString("0.000"));
Output : 123.450

Have you tried String.Format method:

int[] years = { 2013, 2014, 2015 };
int[] population = { 1025632, 11059672, 1148233303 };
String s = String.Format("{0,-10} {1,-10}\n\n", "Year", "Population");
for (int index = 0; index < years.Length; index++)
s += String.Format("{0,-10} {1,-10:N0}\n",
years[index], population[index]);
Console.WriteLine(s);
