displaying selected pdf file in new web page

Question

i have a contract system project where pdf file could be saved in the sql 2005 database, if needed. i have done this, now what i wnat to do is, when user search the speciific contract giving contracting party code or name... , it retrieves the data from database showing the pdf file name.and if user wants to view that file, i.e click on file name, pdf file should be opened in new web page. i've been trying & looking help on this for a week but not come to final output.i could show jpeg images but could not show pdf files?please,please & please anyone help me.. its urgent now.
