dropdown list selected index changed event in mvc using partial view

i have to display a data on the selected index change of a dropdown,corresponding to the selected value in dropdown

can anyone give the code for it.

you can call a jquery function performing ajax call to get view from code and replace the html with result.

Suppose your dropdown is:
<select class="headingdropdown form-inset valid" id="ddlClassType" name="ddlClassType" onchange="GetStudent()"><option selected="selected" value="61">A/Coption>
<option value="1">Calss 1option>
<option value="2">Calss 2option>
<option value="3">Calss 3option>
<option value="4">Calss 4option>
<option value="5">Calss 5option>
select>
Write this jquery function "GetStudent" to be called on dropdown change and use your path for url:
function GetStudent()
   {
       var ClassId= $("#ddlClassType").val();
       showLoader();
       $.ajax({
           url: "Detail/GetStudent", //Your path should be here
           data: { ClassId: ClassId},
           type: "post",
           success: function (response) {
                   $("#yourcontainer").html(response);
           }
       });
}

Your action should return the partial view or any string so that you can fill your container with that value:
public ActionResult GetStudent(Int32 ClassId)
     {

             if (ClassId > 0)
             {
                 var yourmodel=new yourmodel();
ill your model with data and return the view
                 return View("_yourview", yourmodel);
             }
             else
             {
                 return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home", new { msg = "1" });
             }

     }
