Dropdown lists

Here is the situation: ============================================= The details of a particular record say an Employee is displayed on the ASP.NET page. Employee type is a dropdown list (for Eg Employee Type Table has : Manager, Supervisor, Agent, Associate. The Employee type dropdown list is bound to the data from Employee Type table.) Now if "Agent" is deleted from the database but the Employee details record still has "Agent" as Employee type, I want to display "Agent" while displaying this Employees details, even though it may not be in the bound data for the dropdownlist. ==============================================
