i want to create a database of richtextbox but i don't have any idea how to create it...and use of rtf property

please give an idea about it

Hi, To save the value from RichTextBox in SQL, you can create the column as nVarchar. Please accept if it helps you

But number of characters in below sentence which you are trying to insert is 61

this is mine first attept to store file in database using rtb

So, set it as varchar(MAX) or specify some higher limit.

but column type is already nvarchar(50)
how much i have to increase it

This would be the query to update the column size.

ALTER TABLE TABLE_NAME
ALTER COLUMN COLUMN_NAME VARCHAR(50)

Reason for that error is the field is NOT big enough to hold that data.

Check the table structure odf your table . I think you'll find that the length of field is NOT big enough to hold the data you are trying to insert.

For example, if the rich field is a varchar(8) field, and you try to put 11 characters in to it, you will get this error. Please increaase size of the field.

sorry for again disturbance... insert and retrieve query was running properly but while i apply some formatting on text or i extend the length of entered data
like:
if i enter "hii" query perform it's execution BUT when i try
"this is mine first attept to store file in database using rtb" it shows error
.like this error occured....?????

Hi,

No need to call as Sir, just call as Jai.

And the problem is with your INSERT query, it should values not value, update your query like below

INSERT INTO r_1 (rich) values ('"+richTextBox1.Text+"')"

Syntax for the same
INSERT INTO table_name (columnname1,columnname2) values ('value1','value2')

No sir enough guideline doesn't work
