Entity data model not showing in data sources window

In VS 2010 I added an EDM and it displays in the data sources window. In VS 2012 I add the EDM the same way and it does not display in the Data Sources window, so I then follow the steps....

• Click Add New Data Source to open the Data Source Configuration Wizard again.
• On the Choose a Data Source Type page, click Object, and then click Next.
• Expand the node whose name is the same as your project.
• Enable the tables you want to add to Data Source.
• Click Finish.

This adds the EDM into the Data Sources window, I then drag a bound datagrid onto my window and it is empty?
