Hello By using entity framework you should define that which column gonna be primary key For that you can use "Data Annotation" Please find below snippet : Public class Student { [Key] // It will works as primary key public int StudentKey{ get ; set ;} } Use namespace like : using System.ComponentModel; using System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations; using System.Web.Mvc; If you don't provide key than it throws exception as well Because EF Requires any key to be primary , by using [Key] you are telling that this column is going to be acts as primary key I hope it helps Thanks

Hi Sandeep, We have 2 way to define primary key by using either primary key convention or Data Annotation . - Primary key convention => By default, Entity Framework Creates a primary key if a property name is Id or Id . - Data Annotation => The property should be decorated by using [Key] attribute.
