Exception handling

When i am try to type "IOexception" in catch block i am getting error as atachd. Pls let me know why?

Hello

As per you shared error information , i given solution to you that

You should include :

using System.IO;

That's it , what else you want

Sometimes you need to import namespace that are not default supported

Thanks. Manav,

But this is not the case with other exceptions like "divide by zero" or"format exception" . i need not include the namespace for them and they are not throwing errror. only for I/o it is throwing error. Also I/O means what . Whether it is input output (OR) invalid operation ?>

Hello

You are facing this error because you are not using proper namespace for it

IOException is part of I/O which is neccessary

First of all you should import it like :

using System.IO;

Than you can use IOException like this :

try
{
}
catch(IOException ioe)
{
// Printting actual IO Error on console
Console.WriteLine("Exception of IO Is :-"+ ioe);
}

This is how you can use any exception for what you want to raise exception with specific error information

Hi,

You getting this error because you have not include the assembly reference for IOException in your visual studio if you place cursor on IOException and press CTRL + > then you will see that it will tell you to include assembly files either System.IO or System.IO.IOException.
