Explain Agile Model

The Agile Model, also known as Agile Software Development or Agile Methodology, is an iterative and incremental approach to software development that focuses on flexibility, collaboration, and delivering valuable working software to customers quickly and continuously. The Agile Model is based on a set of principles outlined in the Agile Manifesto, which was created by a group of software developers in 2001.

The Agile model is built on the iterative and incremental model. Being an adaptive model ensures that the software is delivered faster. The faster delivery is done by eradicating unnecessary activities that may consume additional time and adapting the process as per the project. One distinctive factor about this model is that it is not just a model, but a group of development processes that have certain similarities and differences.

Following are the phases in the Agile model:

1. Requirements gathering
2. Design the requirements
3. Construction/ iteration
4. Testing/ Quality assurance
5. Deployment
6. Feedback

The Agile model adopts Iterative development. Each incremental part is developed over an iteration. Each iteration is intended to be small and easily manageable and can be completed within a couple of weeks only. At a time one iteration is planned, developed and deployed to the customers. Long-term plans are not made.
