Filestructure ASP.NET MVC and MVC Core

I am confused about the filestructure.

Looking at a bit older MVC tutorials in MVC 5 compared to Core the file-structure seem different.

Can I follow an MVC tutorial and then move on to a Core-application?

Ok, so the Model, View, Controller foldes are still there.

Does core work in a similar maner?
