use wild card operator in your query and in textbox TextChange event or button click bind the grid as shown below
string CS = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["DBCS"].ConnectionString;
using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(CS))
{
    // Parameterized query. @ProductName is the parameter
    string Command = "Select * from tblProductInventory where ProductName like @ProductName" ;
    SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(Command, con);
    // Provide the value for the parameter
    cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@ProductName", TextBox1.Text + "%");
    con.Open();
    GridView1.DataSource = cmd.ExecuteReader();
    GridView1.DataBind();
}

yes, as Rajnikant Sir mentioned database calls are costly ,
so better is to bind your gridview with dataset and then perform filtering , now filtering will be happening in memory so there will be no database calls.
ds.Tables[0].DefaultView.RowFilter = Col:value";
GridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;
GridView1.DataBind();

Hello Ami,
Database calls are costlier, When call database on every textchanged event, you have to bind DatView object onetime then use this object to filter gridview on textchanged event.
