filter the column value has more than 10000 items rest api

Kamalesh Figova

hi all,

_spPageContextInfo.webAbsoluteUrl + "/_api/web/lists/getbytitle('ListName')/items?$top=5000&$filter= ColumnName eq 'abc'". Here ColumnName is indexed. And there are more than 10,000 records having value "abc" in ColumnName. I am getting the error - "The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator."

how to over come this error, and i need the column to be filtered even it has more than 10,000 or above list items in sharepoint online

Thanks in advance

1: In order to resolve the issue, please increase the list view threshold from SharePoint Central Administration site for this specific web Application. Please find steps below. 2: Login to Central Administration 3: Go to Application Management -> Manage Web Applications 4: Select SharePoint Central Administration Web Application 5: In the ribbon above, click General Settings. That will bring down a menu, from which you should pick Resource Throttling 6: Change the List View Threshold option (first item in this list) to 50000 and press OK. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/the-attempted-operation-is-prohibited-because-it/d966057a-0eb8-4ce3-a908-3b6b0a4e975b https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/176856/list-threshold-limit
