Focusing into a control by navigation from other form in c#

Sir,

I need your help to a navigation problem.

This is my first step:-

When I click on the ' + ' button, a new form will popup. Here that form:-

I want to return and focus to the comboBox control containing ' +' control immediately after saving the company.

How this possible in c#?, please help me.

Hi Nathan,

Try this.

Put this code in the form where you navigate into the frmCompany

frmCompany frm=new frmCompany();
frm.ShowDialog();
// also call the function to load the company in the comboBox.

Then in the form frmCompany-

// in the Button Save_Click

//after save function code,
form1 frm=new form1();
frm.show();

Try something like this which assumes that the combobox (cboCompanyName say) is not data-bound:

// on main form

private void btnPlus_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

frmCompany fc = Application.OpenForms["frmCompany"] as frmCompany;

if (fc == null)
{
fc = new frmCompany(cboCompanyName);
fc.Show();
}
else
{
fc.Focus();
}
}

// on frmCompany

private ComboBox cbo;

public frmCompany(ComboBox cbo) // make changes to constructor
{
InitializeComponent();
this.cbo = cbo;
}

private void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (txtCompanyName.Text == "")
{
MessageBox.Show("Company name must be completed before can save");
txtCompanyName.Focus();
return;
}

if (cbo.Items.Contains(txtCompanyName.Text))
{
MessageBox.Show("Company name already exists in combobox");
txtCompanyName.Focus();
return;
}

cbo.Items.Add(txtCompanyName.Text);
cbo.SelectedIndex = cbo.Items.Count - 1;
cbo.Focus();
}

If the combobox is data-bound, then to add an item you'll need to change the underlying data source and rebind.
