Forum Improvements - Open Suggestions

Hi All,

This thread is open to all members those who want to shares there ideas, suggestions for the
improvement of our forum in future.

Note:

We already have Suggest an Idea section where you can post your ideas.
Depends upon the votes or comments these ideas will get approved by our Admins.
So primary focus will be on Suggest an Idea section only.

Also, already a thread is running by Mahesh - Forum Improvements #2 - Your Feedback Needed which listing future improvements going to be taken care of by the Admins.
Mahesh had already confirmed that they are going to release new enhancements soon.

The reason behind this thread is because, i think lots of members wants to express their
comments or suggestions here freely without disturbing the thread created by
Mahesh (will be a primary one). That thread will be a reference thread to all of us.

Looking forward for more discussions.

This thread is good. It is just that the Suggest an Idea forum should be better. Perhaps if more of an effort was made to identify what ideas that were suggested there have been accepted, then people will be more likely to use it.

As an editor for this web site, I really can use a better editor. I intend to explore the possibility to edit articles using an external editor, but I don't want to say very much about it before I know it won't cause any problems. Note that the word editor is ambiguous; it can refer either to a person or to software. So when I say I am an editor, you can't be sure whether I am a person or software.

Suggest an Idea needs good improvement. We need a good html editor there also.

Posting here is primary due to Forum visibility to all.

Only Approved list there, no Implemented ones. Next release might resolve this.

The other thread can be a reference. It seems others members afraid posting suggestions on Mahesh thread

If this an unwanted thread, we can close it.

My suggestion is to imrove the Suggest an Idea section so it is userful. I am not sure how to do that. I suppose we need to analyze what the advantages are for creating a thread such as this instead of using the Suggest an Idea section. Is it because a thread such as this is more visible? If so then we need to make the Suggest an Idea section more visible. Or is it because administration does not look at the Suggest an Idea section?

I think something should be done to get people to look at the existing suggestions, because otherwise people are going to repeat them. And we need to get the ones that have been implemented moved or copied to the place for that and the ones that have been accepted for implementation but not yet implemented to be copied or moved as appropriate. I have not looked there recently but in the past the maintenance has not been done.

If we use this thread instead, then will those things be done here?
