Hey everyone! I’m currently navigating my early days as a developer, and I’ve chosen C# and .NET as my career path. However, I’ve run into a bit of a roadblock, and I’m hoping the experienced devs here can share some wisdom.
I’m currently in a 3-year web development diploma program. The problem? The curriculum changes its tech stack almost every six months. Right now, they are focusing on the MERN stack. While MERN is great, my heart is set on the C#/.NET ecosystem.
Because the school hops between technologies so fast, I feel like I’m missing out on the deeper understanding of why certain languages solve specific problems. When I try to learn ASP.NET Core on my own, it feels a bit alien because of its sheer robustness and power.
I realize that I need to understand the 'raw power' of plain C# before I can truly leverage a massive framework like ASP.NET Core. I haven't built any projects yet, and I want to make sure I use my study time effectively.

Daily Habits: What daily practices helped you truly grasp C# (not just the syntax, but the underlying concepts)?
Study Timing: How did you balance learning the language vs. learning the framework?
First Projects: What are some good beginner projects that focus purely on C# fundamentals (Console apps, etc.) before jumping into web APIs?
