Generate Auto increment HR_iD like COMP/MY/101

Hii,

I want to create auto incremented hr_id I have fetch Max(hr_id)

but how to incease numeric portion in C# code.

Please Tell Me.

The MAX(HR_ID) is COMP/MY/101

when I do entry in table automatically it be

COMP/MY/102

for other COMP/MY/103 and so on...

var id = "COMP/MY/101"; //assuming it is fetched from database with max (hr_id);

            var IdPart = id.Substring(id.LastIndexOf("/") + 1);
            var stringPart = id.Replace(IdPart,"");

            var newID = stringPart + (Convert.ToInt32(idPart) + 1);

CREATE TABLE Employee
(ID INT IDENTITY(1, 1) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED,
Hr_ID AS RIGHT('COMP/MY/' + CAST(ID AS VARCHAR(5)), 9) PERSISTED,
Ename varchar(50)
)

Compiler Error Message: CS1061: 'string' does not contain a definition for 'SubString' and no extension method 'SubString' accepting a first argument of type 'string' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

Split the section and then increment the numeric part
var id = "COMP/MY/101"; //assuming it is fetched from database with max (hr_id);

var IdPart = id.SubString (id.LastIndexOf ("/")+1) ;
var stringPart = id.Replace (IdPart);

var newID = stringPart +  (Convert.ToInt32 (idPart)+1);

// your new id is ready to insert in your database.
Furthermore, I'll suggest you to put your string part on a seperate column and numeric part on a seperate column. So that it would be more convenient to use.
