Generic statement in c# asp.net using sql

Follow this approach, simply create the stored procedure following the naming convention spTableName and give the class also the same name as your table, later just pass the class object you want to update.

public void Update(T obj)
{
using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(cs))
{
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("sp" + typeof(T).Name, con);
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Type", "Update");
var props = typeof(T).GetProperties().ToList();
foreach (var x in props)
{
if ((x.PropertyType.IsValueType || x.PropertyType == typeof(string)))
{
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@" + x.Name, x.GetValue(obj));
}
}
con.Open();
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
}
}
