get dropdwonlist data on edit click

In which technology specifically you are asking for I mean in ASP.Net Server side or In asp.net using javascript or jquery.

In asp.net you can access the value of dropdownlist using SelectedValue property as shown below.

string countryName = lstCountryy.SelectedValue;

To access in javascript using jquery you can use the id and val() as shown below.

var countryName = $('#lstCountry').val();

Here lstCountry is the id of dropdownlist in view. You can also access any dropdownlist using class attribut, name or attribut type specifically assigned to a particular dropdownlist.
