Get Modem Response

Hello. I am currently developing an app which uses a 56k modem. But i need access to at command responses. For example if i send 'at' command, it should respond 'ok' just as it would in hyperterminal(which by the way does perfectly). Is there any method for getting the command responses? Thanx in advance

Hello and thank you for your response. I just saw your reply this morning .I'm not ungrateful just havn't checked back cause of work. I have been using the serialPort class prior to my original post which has worked for sending the commands. It dials perfectly. The problem was getting the response from the modem to know it's current state. I've found that using the readexisting() method of the serial port class does this(but you do have to format to clean some unwanted characters). Also I cant seem to work with the CDHolding method. I understand it is supposed to detect if a carrier is present(dial tone) But through every run in debug mode it is always false. Even thought there is one present. The program dials stored phone numbers by the way. Thanx again for your help.

@Sam, I think the person should give you the credit for it since you did the research for him/her.

The point is though, that anyone can find answers to anything if one looks hard enough and if the answer is not found by others then maybe through careful research of the component parts surrounding the actual problem the answer can be found.

Thank you theLizard and thank you for giving me the opportunity to admit that all I did was search these forums for previous answers. The person asking the question could have obtained the answers simply by doing a search. Of course, perhaps I should not say that since now the person asking the question (xeh tor) won't want to give me credit for the answer.

You can use the SerialPort Class (System.IO.Ports). There is even some sample code there. Also see the following.
