Hi,
Can any let me know how exactly this forum site and the other section of the site differs... Its very much confused on using this forum section. There are soo many categories and if any one post a question or an announcement in any section of the category will it be displayed at the index page???
Can any one suggest the best option to get used to this site... :( i have been with c-sharpcorner for the past one month and im totally confused of this forum section with the other sections(like the profile itself gets differed)

Forums were built as a separate applications and hence have different categories than the website caregories. Also profile pages are different. Next version of the application will have just a single profile page and everything else will be common such as categories etc.

One suggestion is that I think it would help if the category (that each thread is in) was shown in the "Forum Home" page.
Another suggestion is that it would help me if the "Forum Home" page was to store the time that I last viewed it so that the next time I look at it, I know how far back to go to look at just the threads that are new or modified since the last time I looked.
So how to use the "Forum Home" page? One thing that I have done for years before I found this web site is to look at a list of threads (such as in the "Forum Home" page) and then open each question in a new window. I open several questions before reading them. Then I read them and reply to the ones I have replies for. Then I do the same until all the threads are looked at that I want to look at. The advantage of this is so that the list of threads is not updated; I have the list as it existed when I first started looking. So I go down the list until either I get to the bottom or I get to some threads that I answered and I know that I had looked at the threads older than that.
There is one thing that I do not understand that I have not yet posted a question about. At the bottom of the list of threads in the "Forum Home" page is a link for more. I don't know what the sort criteria is for that page. The sort order seems different, so if I want to go further back in time, I am not sure how to use that "more" page.

If I remember correctly, Mahesh said that they plan to assimilate the two in the next version and there will then only be a single profile.
Whatever section they're posted to, all threads are pooled chronologically in the Latest Questions/Recently Updated section in the middle of the forums home page.
