Gridview rowdatabound event is not firing.

That's weird then,

Can you post your HTML markup here and the corresponding gridview events? (don't post the whole code just the relevant one)

Try to debug your codes and set a break-point at RowDataBound event to verify if it is firing or not?

Also did you tried to remove the updatepanel just to verify it if the event is firing or not?

Make sure that you wired up the RowDataBound event in your GridView and make sure it matches you event handler:
