Help with RPG Project :)

Christian Parent

Hello all,

i am learning C# and, i want to slowly create a RPG, i dont need it to be graphic intensive, it is my first, i want to create something quite small just to get an idea of how to do it.

I would love to make something like a dungeon crawler or, something like Might&Magic (1 thru 5). I hope you see what i mean !

Does anyone have a link or a book that has a tuto that would make me create something like that ?

My problem is that i dont really know what it needs to be done and where to start :)

Thanx for your help :)

Check out the book called Game Scripting Mastery. Available on Amazon. It's geared toward c++ but it actually does go over the entire process of getting a scripting lingo set up, and it has demo code integrating the whole thing into direct X. I know you're looking for C#, but this is about as close as I think you're going to get for the very moment without getting one of those books that just teaches you how to use an existing code engine. I will tell you that this isn't exactly a simple process :)

I too am beginning C#. If you don't know anything about programming, I would suggest making your first game (read: first several games) text-based to get a feel for the actual design aspect of it.

Design is more important than pixels, IMO.
