System.outofMemory Exception

I am Running exe over night , i am getting "System.outofMemory Exception". Still memory is there. in My project i am filling list Continuously .....with that i am plotting charts. i am using 64 bit machine.

May I know why "System.outofMemory Exeption as thrown" will come ....

how can i check that memory leaking.

That is why I am saying somewhere in your code memory is leaking. After 3 hours it throws outofmemory exception. So make sure that you have sufficient memory available. Secondly check your code anywhere you are missing to close the connection or disposing the object etc..

Find out all possibilities that there is no memory leak in your code.

After completeion , i am clearing that list, when i run exe continuously 3 hours , i am getting "system.outof memory Execption"

OutOfMemoryError is related to Heap. System throws this error when you don't have sufficient memory to run a program. There may be possibility that if you have large objects (or) referenced objects in memory, then you will see OutofMemoryError. If you have strong references to objects, then GC can't clean the memory space allocated for that object.

Possibilities:

Reading large data sets into memory.
Creating excessive cache entries.
Uploading or downloading large files.
Excessive use of regular expressions or strings while parsing files.
Excessive view state.
Too much data in session state or too many sessions.

How to avoid:

1. Close your connection after you have used it.
2. Close all Datareaders after you have used
3. Make NULL all dataset after used.
4. Dispose your all object.
