I m also designing an application with multilingual support.

you can use Nchar,Ntext,Nvarchar Datatype if you are using Ms SQL as backend.

Whenever u save ur data to the DB you need to add a prefix near you value field.

like::

insert into DB (hindiname) values(N'" + txthindiNm.Text + '');

will save your  data as u typed in textbox.

Next Question is Searching From DB::

When you try to search from Db lets Take an Example of ComboBox.

you simply use

ComboHindi.FindString(ComboHindi.Text) will return u the index of found item can be -1 if not found else the Index of Item Found in Combobox.
