I develop bespoke, mainly financial, corporate applications. Thankfully, I've never been a 'shrink-wrap' developer and so haven't had to worry too much about protecting intellectual property.

If I were in that market, then I think I'd probably develop them in unmanaged C++ which is much harder to reverse engineer and produces faster executables than .NET. The downside, of course, is that applications take much longer to develop.
