How can I use a users table instead of authentication in C#?

I mean I want to create and use user table which I myself create it instead of using authentication in ASP.NET in security part, please guide me how I can create this table.

If you use Asp.Net authentication then cookies /Session are there no matter which version are you using.

I have a question the ASP.NET configuration which is in just visual studio 2010 which is not in latest version of visual studio is basically work om cookies or not?

Step 1:
In web.config
Step 2:
On login click, Check in your database and check for valid user name & password
Once it is valid
Step 3:
Create a cookie manually, as you know that forms authentication in asp.net works basically on cookie
FormsAuthentication.CreateAuthCookie("username",bool ispersistant);
Step 4: Redirect to url specifc url which you want
Step 3: On logout button click
Just write
FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); This will delete the cookie which got created.

Hi Joe,

Using forms authentication, create your own table & check for valid user on button click. Once user is valid, you can create the authentication cookie manually

FormsAuthentication.CreateAuthCookie("username",bool ispersistant);
