how display an ImageList?

In your ListView you have 2 properties LargeImageList and SmallImageList. Set either of those properties to your ImageList. Then each ListViewItem has a property called ImageIndex that will correspond to each item in the ImageList. ListBoxes are a little trickier because you'll have to set the DrawMode to UserDrawFixed or UserDrawVariable then write a handler for the ItemDraw event. If you do this you'll be responsible to handle all the specifics that go into the item's bounding box, including drawing the text in the box.
