How do i cache data and update if its changes in database

My Suggestion is

 

 Write a new method in index page. Do following work Inside that method 

 

1.  Add 29 days with cache date and check current date is greater than added date.

2.  if it is greater call database and get a db date.  if db date and  original cache date is not matched then replace the date else leave it
