How do I migrate to WCF from a WSE application?

WCF is a big change from WSE. You're not going to be able to just recompile. You're going to have to define interfaces, write contracts, set up the .config file, etc. It doesn't get hosted the same way.

All I can suggest is that you leave your WSE code alone and create a new project for WCF. You can keep your business logic and data access code. You have to put new contracts and interfaces on top. You may end up running both sets of web services for a while until the clients can also migrate.

You have a lot of new binding choices, but basicHttpBinding is the one created for people migrating from .asmx and WSE web services. It uses the same version of SOAP.

I found Migrating WSE 3.0 Web Services to WCF. It sure looks like there is not a simple conversion.
